The function of your alternator is very important. Without a proper charging alternator you can do serious damage to your vehicles electrical system. The correct charge rate for your alternator is between 13.6V and 14.5V depending on your vehicles electrical system and size of battery.
○ Charge too high - battery overcharge could lead to battery failure and even explosion caused by the gas build up inside. It can also damage your ECU (engine control unit)
○ Charge too low - low charge cause low voltage. The problem is that your vehicle's electrical divices cannot operate under minimum 12V and wil therefore damage the electronic components.
